Vittorio, I sure understand that couple of issues you clarified, I maybe have not written it the right way.

In Cardspace when you login, they are checking the card you have on your computer while in openID they are connecting to your identity provider. Of course in cardspaces, the majority of cards will be provided by a indentity provider too, but the card will still be in your hands. (Something I believe is maybe more secure, but a lot of the security failures are caused by the user (like passwords under the keyboard, or post-its on the monitor, anyway this might be another topic we could discuss).

As for the second point, what I meant it was that it was better for my situation. Maybe it isn't... ONe thing I'd like to emphasize is the "for now" since I believe CardSpace is not ready yet in my perspective. I know support for linux and mac are being done and for mobile too, but they're not 1.0 yet. I believe it is the better solution for this weblog for example, but I'm sorry if I put words in your mouth that aren't correct.

And by learning the elaborate scenarios is where you realize the potential within CardSpace. So I did enjoy that session!

Hello Alcides,
let me clarify a couple of things.
* I am not sure I understand "cardspace is user-centric and openID is based on independent providers". CardSpace is based on independed providers too, no more and no less.
* I have never said what you quote in the post. What I said is that for high value transactions you may want to consider to take advantage of the higher assurance that cardspace provides; that does not imply any consideration about one system being better than the other for lower value scenarios

it was a pleasure to have a chat with you! I hope that the subsequent interactive session
didn't scare you. There we had people trying to acocmplish complex things, consequently the explanation dug very deep into elaborate scenarios... the average developer does not need to know anything about those details
